Héroes del Silencio
Zaragoza rock group featuring Enrique Bunbury, Juan Valdivia, Joaquín Cardiel and Pedro Andreu.

On 10 January 1987, Héroes del Silencio played at the En Bruto venue in Zaragoza. Their own discography recounts what followed: Gustavo Montesano and Roberto Azorín persuaded EMI-Hispavox to give the group a recording opportunity. Their early demos had previously circulated without attracting a deal.
The Zaragoza band went on to release El mar no cesa and then Senderos de traición. The latter included “Entre dos tierras”, a song in which the person addressed is caught between two sides and unable to breathe. Released in 1990, it became one of the group’s most recognisable recordings beyond Spain.
En Bruto belonged to a network of Zaragoza concert rooms that gave bands a stage in the 1980s. The city later named a street for Héroes del Silencio and installed a monument to the group.
